This was my first attempt at sea-life using salt. I'm still battling the desire to create a 'watercolor' look with the desire to create detail in my work. Their are two elements I feel okay about, the background water look and the coral. This was my second attempt at this picture in which I didn't feel solid about any of it. Such is progress. A friend told me that the first 200 watercolors are crap, and then you start getting better. Ahem, than I must be getting slightly better.
Back to the 'watercoloring board'.
