I finally made my seasonal journey to the coast. When I arrived, I got settled in and headed for the beach. (These are not my feet in the picture. Mine are a bit more knobby) It was a beautiful, cloudless day, but a bit windy. Perfect for flying a kite.
The sunset was cinematically glorious. Pelicans were diving into the water after fish with their intensity that only they could match. Fireworks of pink and purple took my breath away.
Next day, I ventured out in my wet suit and boogie board, to do battle with the waves. Hoping to match the intensity of determination the pelicans had exerted the previous night. Did I mention this was only the second time I had boogie boarded, with no classical, or any other kind of training??? The ocean kicked me on my gluteous maximus.
Gorgeous, day where the sun glistens on the ocean so beautifully that it seems surreal. I didn't bring my camera with me so you'll have to take my word for it.
One guy, I think he must have been born of poseidon, without a wet suit or board of any kind, was diving into the waves and then body surfing. I felt like a wimp in comparison for my boogie boarding debacle.
Oh well, there is always next years migration.
Grab a curl, or get your toes all sandy,
Laura
