Dulcy Mahar's writing was such an inspiration to me. What she did for the garden community was to in an extremely pithy and elegant manner, make it cool to try new ideas that were not necessarily trendy. Her manner of writing was akin to watching a beautiful dancer or listening to a talented opera singer, I just watched and marveled at how she could spin her yarn.
I am saddened selfishly that I will never read a new article written from her doses of humor and keen perspective, but I am so grateful for her contributions. Whenever I see a gnome, a flamingo, or hear her trademark phrase of 'plant lust' I will think of her. Some people leave an imprint on your soul, even though I regretfully never met her, she did just that.
