Time to water, time to wipe away the spiderwebs accosting our faces, AND time to soak up the height of summer's opulence and riches. Whether it is savoring the riches at the farmer's market. (Marion berries have finally come in.) Or noticing the rising temperatures have persuaded even the most obstinate plant to bloom.
I celebrate the vines. One of my favorites, is the bleeding heart vine. I had thought it had been some type of 'gardener's urban legend' until I found one in a garden center 5 years ago. Its' dainty tendrils seem to defy its' ability to survive mother natures' recent winter wrath. But survive it does.

As for the 'queen of the vines', I am in awe of how fiercely these clematis come back every year with little assistance.Soak up the flower-sunshine and gather those fruits because I have already spotted some leaves turning color.

Cheers,
